  • Kara Murphy

    Athletic Therapist & Kinesiologist RMT Student/Relaxation Massage

    Born and Raised in Victoria, B.C., Kara has always had a passion for the outdoors and sports. Kara has always had a desire to help others, so she made it her career.

    Kara specializes in assessment of musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation such as shoulder, knee, hip, back and ankle injuries. A mother of two, she enjoys working with expecting patients and has taken her Pregnancy Rehabilitation Certification through Herman & Wallace Institute. Kara has the ability to provide care for acute or chronic injuries including post surgical procedures. Kara uses a variety of modalities including ultrasound, electrical stim, soft tissue release during her treatments.

  • Jamie Neill

    Athletic Therapist & Kinesiologist

    Jamie Neill was born and raised in Courtenay, BC where she played volleyball, swam competitively and skied. Jamie attended Camosun College to receive her Bachelors in Athletic and Exercise Therapy, graduating in 2018.

    Jamie has experience with the local professional soccer team Pacific FC, multiple hockey teams, high school and university level athletes and is currently working with Rugby Canada. She is able to work with people of all ages and conditions. Her appointments include a full body assessment to find the root cause and treating with electrical modalities, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitative exercise. Her appointment goals are to help her clients return to a pain-free lifestyle.

  • Peter Schreurs

    Athletic Therapist & Osteopathic Manual Practitioner

    Peter has always been fascinated by the capabilities of the human body. This interest led him to obtain his Bachelor of Athletic and Exercise Therapy from Camosun College and become a Certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C). Peter continued his studies through a 5 year program at the Canadian School of Osteopathy Vancouver, in the field of osteopathy, and obtained his diploma as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner D.O.M.P.

    Peter’s treatments are holistic in nature. He accomplishes this by treating all the overlapping layers and systems of the body to restore the body's innate potential expression of health. He uses a combination of manual techniques derived through osteopathic education, along with exercise and lifestyle education. His multi-modal approach allows for the effective treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, back pain, chronic conditions and pain, sports injuries, postural issues, surgical rehabilitation, hormonal imbalances, chronic fatigue, energetic imbalances, lymphatic disturbances and more.

  • Taniesha Bramley

    Athletic Therapist & Kinesiologist

    Taniesha was born and raised in Sidney BC. Starting from a young age she has lived a very active life. She found a love for all sports early on and began coaching soccer and swimming. Taniesha’s spare time is spent pushing herself in the gym and instilling good habits of self discipline. This passion has led her to being interested in working towards helping individuals of all ages lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

    She has worked countless hours with a variety of sports teams in on-field and clinical settings. Taniesha has completed her Bachelors of Athletic and Exercise Therapy at Camosun College and is working on becoming a fully certified Athletic Therapist. She is excited to work alongside her clients to support each individual toward achieving their personal goals!

  • Tara Keller

    Kinesiologist

    Tara provides Clinical Kinesiology support to clients invested in active recovery. She received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 1995 from the University of Waterloo. She is a Practicing Member under the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and Canadian Kinesiology Alliance.

    Born and raised in Ontario, Tara moved west in 1997 to pursue her outdoor passions for sport & founded Essential Kinetics, developing her accredited Movement Assessment & Corrective Training Certification program that has been delivered across Canada to health practitioners from all fields. She has culminated her experiences in working with world-class leaders in injury management and is a certified FRCms Mobility Specialist, SFMA provider, Medical Exercise Specialist and a trained Postural, Pelvic & Myokinematic Restoration provider. With over 25 years of experience, Tara enjoys bringing clients of all ages and conditions back to their freedom of movement by optimizing their recovery & fitness.

  • Alana Wood

    Acupuncturist

    Alana was a Summa Cum Laude graduate and the class valedictorian of the Diploma of Acupuncture program at Pacific Rim College. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta.

    While at university, Alana was a member and captain of the varsity swim team for 5 years, while finally retiring at graduation to cap off a 15-year career as a high-level athlete. During her time as an athlete, she was no stranger to injury which led to her finding acupuncture and leaning on it to keep her in top shape while representing Canada on a national and international stage.

    Alana offers an anatomy-informed approach blending traditional Chinese medicine and orthopedic acupuncture to effectively treat musculoskeletal pain, dysfunction, and injury. She employs a variety of techniques in her treatments, including: electro-acupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, and moxibustion (heat therapy). Other professional interests include neuropathies, mental health, and general practice. Her treatment goals always include getting you back to doing what you love.

    Alana continues to work with the college as a teaching assistant in orthopedics & traumatology, where she instructs students in advanced orthopedic needling techniques and assessments.

    When she’s not in the clinic, she’s off hiking in the woods with her partner and her rescue dog, Chips.

  • Tessa Neilson

    Acupuncturist

    Tessa has been practicing acupuncture since 2016 and relocated here from Whistler BC. After working with professional skiers and local sports enthusiasts, she decided to pursue her studies in advanced orthopaedic assessment and sports rehabilitation in Victoria at Pacific Rim College. Tessa will complete her Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in April 2023. Tessa is trained in classical TCM modalities including acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and acupressure, which she uses to resolve acute and chronic pain and to improve function and mobility from tension and injury.

    Tessa has learned to use specific points to improve sleep, digestion and energy, as well to soothe stress, anxiety and depression. She is happy to modify her treatments for anyone who feels nervous and has simplified sessions for children and teenagers to assist with calm, focus and concentration. Tessa has worked as a doula and completed a practicum with a midwife where she was able to apply her advanced training in gynecology and obstetrical acupuncture to support fertility, pregnancy and general women’s health.

    Tessa has trained in cosmetic acupuncture for facial rejuvenation as well as to resolve scarring and to help with bloating and weight loss. Tessa is passionate about empowering her patients and is excited to be working with the team at Driftwood.

  • Katie Schmit

    Physiotherapist

    Katie was born and raised in Northern BC, and spent her school age years participating in a competitive dance troupe. Graduating from UBC in 2014 with a Masters of Physical Therapy, she spent her first year of practice in her hometown as the therapist for a CIS basketball team. Following that, she expanded her knowledge in the orthopaedic physiotherapy field while working at a sports clinic in Vancouver. Katie most recently worked as a Physiotherapy Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, expanding her leadership skills as well as physiotherapy practice to work with injured active members of the military.

    Katie has completed an advanced practice fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapists and has taken courses that have added functional dry needling, mobilization with movement, concussion and vestibular therapy to her treatment modalities. With this continuing education and experience, Katie’s treatment approach is a combination of active and manual therapy to return her clients to their meaningful activities.

  • Kirsten Barry

    Physiotherapist

    Kirsten was born and raised right here in the Westshore. She spent her childhood playing softball, soccer, and volleyball before adventuring to Alberta for her post-secondary career. After spending most of the past 7 years away, she is incredibly excited to be back home and working in her community.

    Kirsten graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with distinctions in 2020. She then went on to complete her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2023.

    Kirsten’s passion for physiotherapy started at a young age following a back injury that caused her to spend a significant amount of her youth at physio. This also resulted in her pursuing alternative forms of therapy such as Pilates, which led her to become a trained Pilates Reformer instructor. She is a strong advocate for injury prevention and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. If you are looking for a caring and skilled physiotherapist to help you on your journey, look no further.     Outside of work, you can find Kirsten in the gym lifting weights (probably listening to country music), running, spending time with friends and family, hiking, travelling, and walking her rescue dog Jack.

  • Heric Lopes

    Physiotherapist

    Heric is a physiotherapist from São Paulo, Brazil, holding a degree in Biological Science and Physical Therapy earned in 2004. Apart from his studies, Heric played professional team handball in Brazil and was part of the National team during the 2000-2004 Olympic cycle. He concluded his sports career when he moved to Canada in 2005.

    With over 14 years of experience in Calgary, Alberta, he relocated to Vancouver Island with his family in 2019. Specializing in Sport Musculoskeletal issues and Chronic Pain since the beginning of his practice, he expanded his expertise in 2009 to include helping patients with dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems. In 2013, he achieved Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation from Emory University in Atlanta, USA.

    Heric adopts an active and evidence-based approach to physiotherapy, emphasizing education, movement and exercise therapy, manual therapy techniques, and dry needling (IMS) for a person-centered experience.

    Outside the clinic, he stays active with resistance training and running. He practices what he preaches, and in his free time, he explores Vancouver Island with his wife and daughter.

  • Dr. Patrick Paolini

    Chiropractor

    Patrick completed his Chiropractic Degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto after finishing a Bachelors of Science with Honors in Kinesiology and Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier University. Born and raised in Ontario, Patrick provides an evidence-based approach to the management of chronic pain, acute pain, and pain prevention.

    Patrick’s clinical therapy incorporates a well-rounded philosophy of passive provided treatment and active at-home therapeutic exercises for the removal of pain and the prevention of reoccurrence. Patrick has a special interest in the treatment of chronic pain and in athletic exercise-related prevention including concussion assessment and rehabilitation.

  • Dr. Daniel Collins

    Chiropractor

    Daniel is a Victoria-born, evidence-based chiropractor. Dan’s passion for healthy living combined with a fascination with the mechanics of the human body sparked a desire to pursue a career in healthcare. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic and Exercise Therapy at Camosun College, Dan completed both a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees at the University of Western States (UWS).

    Dan is a diversified practitioner specializing in spinal health, persistent pain, sports injuries, exercise rehabilitation, and integrated care. Using current scientific literature as a guide, Dan utilizes functional assessments to identify the underlying issues and employs a combination of joint manipulation/mobilization, various soft tissue therapies, corrective exercise prescription, and activity modification to encourage proper function and aid the body in healing naturally.

  • Dr. Myia Wilkes

    Chiropractor

    Myia is a family chiropractor who is passionate about helping families stay active. She incorporates education into her treatment plan, along with exercises, soft tissue work, and a variety of adjustment techniques in supporting patients to accomplish their health goals.

    Myia grew up in a sports-oriented family with three brothers, so she is used to being a competitor. Myia received a scholarship and played Division 1 NCAA soccer at San Jose State University while earning her biology degree. Upon graduation, Myia played two years of professional soccer in Norway and Germany, she then decided to pursue a career that would blend her love for science and sports, and she landed on Chiropractic care. Myia graduated with her Chiropractic Doctorate from Life West chiropractic college in California, she also played rugby for the college and achieved Summa Cum Laude academic honors.

    In her spare time, Myia can be found surprisingly playing or coaching soccer, practicing yoga, hiking, lifting weights, or hanging out with her two cats (Mable and Gemma) and dog (Ares).

    Originally from the lower mainland, Kiana graduated from the University of British Columbia with Bachelors of Human Kinetics in 2014. Moving to Victoria in 2016, she attended the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2018.

    With an interest in athletics, Kiana has experience with traumatic sports injuries and rehabilitation for both post-operative orthopedic and soft tissue injuries. Kiana integrates varying active and passive modalities in treatment to promote recovery and maximal performance. She has a particular interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation.

  • Nicole Karstein

    Registered Massage Therapist

    Nicole grew up in Interior BC, always staying active in sports. This brought her to the University of Victoria where she played 5 years for the Vikes Women’s basketball team and completed her Bachelors of Science in 2017. Through sport, Nicole found a curiosity for rehabilitation and injury prevention which led her into massage therapy. She completed her Massage Therapy Diploma at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2021.

    Nicole’s approach is tailor treatments to each individual, guiding each client to feel strong and healthy, and continuously support them with their various goals and rehabilitation.

    A bit of a nomad, Kianna has lived in several places while pursuing adventure tourism and sports in past years. Her active lifestyle fed her interest to learn injury rehabilitation through massage. Now calling Victoria home, she is eager to help the active community around her.

    Graduating from the Camosun College Massage Therapy program in 2021, she has found her main interest in school was to help fellow athletes and those recovering from post surgical repairs. Kianna uses a combination of relaxation and active treatment with a goal to get people back to the activities they love.

  • Vibeke Pedersen

    Registered Massage Therapist

    Growing up in Cochrane, Alberta, Vibeke was drawn to Vancouver Island for it’s beautiful scenery and holistic lifestyle. Vibeke is a recent graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, in Victoria, and passed her registration exam fall 2023.

    Throughout her time at WCCMT, Vibeke gained experience working with a wide variety of clients and health concerns. In addition to her studies in massage therapy, Vibeke’s previously completed her undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education at Mount Royal University, Calgary. She brings her combined knowledge and skills to be effective in each treatment while inspiring her clients to take part in their own health and well-being. Vibeke has a passion for helping people achieve their goals and encourages a mind body connection in all of her treatments.

    Away from the clinic, Vibeke likes to explore the trails on her mountain bike or embracing the refreshing ocean waters.

  • Cory Egan

    Registered Massage Therapist

    Cory graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Kinesiology degree then moved across the country to pursue further education at WCCMT, and now practices as a Registered Massage Therapist.

    Cory's treatment approach identifies the root cause of her patient's symptoms to achieve long term results. She throughly interviews and assesses her patients and incorporates their goals into every treatment. She takes a patient-centered approach while utilizing active and passive techniques such as stretching, joint mobilization’s, myofascial release and integrating movements throughout her treatment. Cory has an interest in injury rehabilitation but welcomes all clients with a wide range of health and wellness demands.

    When Cory is not at the clinic, she enjoys photography, travelling, outdoor rock climbing, weight training and playing soccer.

    Registered Massage Therapist

    Growing up in Terrace BC, Preet gained an appreciation for all things outdoors. She pursued post secondary education in environmental science while playing collegiate volleyball. After completing her yoga teacher training, Preet was inspired to pursue the RMT program to learn more about the human body and provide people with a holistic approach to their pain.

    While completing the RMT program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, Preet discovered she enjoys a patient centred approach which includes connecting with the client while incorporating myofascial, swedish, active and passive techniques. Preet has a passion for supporting individuals improve the connection to their bodies while providing a fun and safe treatment environment.

    When not in the clinic, Preet enjoys surfing, reading, mountain biking and mixed martial arts.

  • Huy Nguyen

    Registered Massage Therapist

    Growing up on Vancouver Island, Huy has always had a natural attraction to the outdoors and sports. Huy’s passion for injury prevention and maintenance of one’s overall health has led Huy to pursue the path of massage therapy in order to help others continue enjoying the activities they love to do!

    From his time spent in the student clinic as well as treating patients in outreaches, Huy has found consistent positive results using a combination of active treatments with relaxation-based techniques.

    Huy graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) in Victoria in April 2023 and became registered in Spring 2024. When not at the clinic, you will find Huy enjoying spending time outdoors playing tennis, hiking the beautiful local trails and parks, as well as tending to his vegetable garden.

  • Sheyla Beattie

    Registered Clinical Counsellor & Certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Insomnia

    Sheyla was born and raised in Victoria, BC, where she pursued a teaching degree from UVIC. She continued her education and graduated from Yorkville University where she received her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology.

    As a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, Sheyla is confident in her ability to support individuals and couples with a variety of life challenges such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, addiction, sleep disorders, and much more. She is passionate about helping her client get to the route of their suffering and help them draw on their own strengths to achieve a more fulfilling life. She uses an integrated approach with emphasis on strength-based, person-centred, and cognitive behavioural theories and techniques.

    She views therapy as a team approach, to make sense of the past, create change for the future, set goals and build skills to embrace their quality of life.

  • Luciano Somerville

    Registered Clinical Counsellor & Provisional Mental Performance Consultant

    Luciano completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a combine major in Biology and psychology at the University of Victoria, where he also played on the Vikes Men’s hockey team. After playing professionally in Europe for 2 years, Luciano completed his Masters of Counselling through City University.

    Lucianos approach is person centred with emphasis placed on building strong therapeutic relationships. He believes that individuals have unique needs which will require a tailored approach to counselling and that the therapeutic process will look different for everyone. His goal as a counsellor is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals can feel seen, heard, and understood, as well as empowered to make room for meaningful change and to live their preferred life.

    As a former elite athlete, and current clinical counsellor and provisional mental performance consultant, Luciano has a unique understanding of the psychological pressures and struggles that athletes experience. His belief is that performance in sport is inextricably linked with mental health. He hopes to integrate my experience as an athlete with my approach in both counselling and supporting athletes through performance consulting and coaching. He has a keen interest in performance anxiety, whether it is in sports, school, work, or other aspects of daily life.

    When not counselling, Luciano can be found spending time with family and friends, being outdoor, exercises or at his family cabin on Horne Lake.

  • Morgan Rozon

    Holistic Nutritionist

    Morgan Rozon is born and raised in Victoria, BC and has had a long time passion for all things health and wellness. She grew up doing competitive gymnastics and has since spent her athletic life competing in sports such as CrossFit, olympic lifting, and powerlifting. In 2010 she completed a spa therapy and massage certification and in 2015 she then shifted her focus towards holistic health and wellness services including personal training and nutrition coaching.

    In 2023 she completed a diploma in holistic nutrition and now specializes in holistically managing conditions such as PCOS, chronic pain, and insulin resistance. She also provides essential support to individuals navigating significant hormonal changes, including pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause. Her coaching philosophy is centered around empowerment, equipping clients with the tools to make informed and enjoyable food choices while fostering awareness of holistic well-being in a sustainable way.

    In her spare time Morgan enjoys hiking with her border aussie Lea, camping with her husband, and cooking food that sparks joy.
